Week 2

This week was a great week. I actually am liking Organic Chemistry, even though I used to just hate it last semester. I don’t know but sometimes I think it’s probably because of the professors teaching style. Like my old professor, he never required any book and just lectured, which was in my opinion a not very strong and effective way to let students learn it. However, my professor now, she makes us read the book, do Homework, Notes and Online Homework. She makes us do groupwork, which is fun; because this way you learn from your peers as well. So, I am learning chemistry and feel like I understand it better, which is a good sign. I have my first physics exam next week, so I am kind of nervous, but let's hope it goes well.

Other than that, this week I had two welcome desk shifts, one on Tuesday and another on Thursday. I also assisted the one stop office for an hour and a half by greeting students, letting them sign in and answering any question they have. On Saturday, we had our Leadership Retreat, which I have attended last year, before I became a SOL. This was a very informative, fun and way to engage with students. We had plenty of games and also, we talked a lot of what it means to be a leader. I am so glad that there are plenty of students that are interested in becoming leaders, potential SOLs, SOCs and Student Ambassadors. This is good; because we need leaders in our society, and this will allow us to become a more productive and positive society. The students remind me of myself last year, I was so motivated and wanted to actually be competitive and shoot my shot and I am glad I made it and I hope students who have the same dreams to also do it.

The leadership Retreat was so fun, there was food and all the ambassadors were there and it was kind of a nice reunion, in fact it was our first reunion in 2019, which is a lot more fun. I was glad to spend my Saturday with them and have fun and get to know new students.
